昨年末まで放映されたNHKドラマ「坂の上の雲」の影響もあってか、大きめの書店にいけば「日露戦争コーナー」が設置されていることも珍しくはありません。そこには数多くの日露戦争に関して書かれた書籍が置かれています。１次資料の数よりも本の方が多いような気がしますが、不思議なことに戦費調達、つまり戦争をするためのファィナンスについて書かれたものは全くありません。せめて当時戦費調達を担当した高橋是清の「高橋是清自伝」でも並べておいてあれば結構なことなのですが、そうした本屋は見たこともありません。太平洋戦争もそうですがどうやら日本人はロジスティックスや戦費みたいなことが苦手なのかもしれません。
